This case was built around that problem — a checked silhouette with a chamber tall enough to hold structure, and a frame true enough to protect it.
The exterior is a textured hard shell in a form that reads as luggage from another era, because things from another era were built to last more than one trip. Brass-finish hardware. Corner guards. A lining in cobalt with woven dividers that keep rigid pieces away from soft ones. Two spinner wheels on a low-profile base so the case rolls, not rolls and tips.
Pack it the night before. Lay the hat brim-down on the padded base. Stack what folds around it. The dimensions clear most international overhead bins for smaller aircraft and handle all checked baggage allowances. It goes where you go, and it comes back looking the same.
